Ship Graveyard Simulator 2: Floating Cities Review (Gravity)
If your looking at DLC reviews for this game, you probably already know what it is your getting into. You'll be taking apart a ship for like 3 hours in a mildly tedious monotony that you actually enjoy because it is somehow satisfying and fun. This DLC adds more of what the game is. Ships to take apart. it also adds a new shipyard location which is sick honestly, but nothing can describe the feeling of buying a $10,000 ship and going out your door to see nothing because the information about there being a second yard didn't actually load making you think you are now broke and basically starting over. Very glad it loaded after I restarted the game. I do have one issue with this DLC that is pretty minor honestly but it's still frustrating. This DLC introduces lock boxes that you can lock pick. Cool! right? I thought so! I went to open one and the classic lock picking mini game that is in every game with lock picking ever happened, and a lock pick broke. In a game about destroying ships. Whatever it must be worth it, these cant be common and probably give some good cash! I opened it up aaaaannnddd...$25. thats it. Oh well, at least I won't be doing it often. Then I found another. And another. And another. I removed a shelf and three fell down at once. I did 12 boxes on one floor of the first ship breaking probably 30 lock pics (because they break OFTEN) before saying screw it. I'm not doing them anymore. There is no reason for them to break as you have an unlimited amount, so why do they? It also doesn't help that every lock box has a very small range of where it will open leading you to use at least 3 per box and there is no variation in difficulty for box size or amount of money given. The amount you get varies with a couple giving over $400, but it's just not worth it. Again, you often spend at least three hours per ship on the big ones. Why on earth would they implement something that just adds more time and tediousness? There are probably well over 100 of these boxes on the ship and I just don't see myself opening any more. I might once I'm done with the ship just to see how much I make from them since I received like 2k from those 12, but I honestly would rather drink pepper spray and gasoline then swallow a firework than open another 1. All in all, the DLC is good. its more of what you want. Just don't bother with the boxes and you won't hate yourself.
update:
If you pick up the lock boxes too soon after opening them you don't actually get the money. So that's neat. also the lock boxes aren't actually as bad as I originally made them out to be. they still suck don't get me wrong, but if you just accept the suck it's not as bad.
