Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 Review (CrazZziK)
The game is awesome. You get to deconstruct large ships, watch big sections collapse, move around like a spider man...
But the game is broken. This is how the last few updates to the game went.
Update 0 - Game crashes about once per hour
Update 1 - Crashing issue fixed
Update 2 - Physics system reworked. Breaks physics on ships in progress (many ships take hours to complete). Breaks progress on new ships. Update rolled back.
Update 3 - Current. Breaks physics on ships in progress. Some parts are impossible to demolish, they just hang in the air, blocking progress for parts that need to be lifted up. Affects game progression. Some issues from Update 2 also present. No rollback announced, co-op feature announced instead.
As enjoyable as this game can be, it is highly frustrating. Devs introduce bugs that mess with your progress with each update. You will constantly doubt if the ship you have started will get stuck 2 hours into the game. IF they can get it to a stable state again, take your chances. Otherwise just get Hardspace: Shipbreaker. The game is slightly different but has solid mechanics and devs respect your time.
UPDATE
Unfortunately the pattern continued. Floating Cities DLC was released around December 12th. The last ship in that DLC could not be disassembled correctly until most recent patch at the end of February. In addition to that, the game would crash constantly in that same time period, often times even before you could drive to the dock.
Even if you like the game and overall concept, you are opening yourself to frustration and disappointement.
