Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Path Home Review (Theoran)
The Path Home is the last of the DLCs and the first of the seven DLCs story to actually occur after the events of the main game. Like the earlier six DLCs, this one is short and can be completed in less than an hour. I still recommend it as I did enjoy the tomb and the story even though I’ve grown tired of Abby and Jonah and their young, budding love.
In this story Abby’s grandmother journaled a vision she had, and, in her vision, she saw that the Yaaxil had gone missing. Lara goes in search of them only to meet Trinity soldiers also looking for the Yaaxil. This encounter is relentless as enemies come from many directions and they’ve brought a big gun to deal with Lara. The combat in this DLC and the previous DLC are some of the most intense encounters in the game.
The tomb and puzzles are pretty straight forward. I did enjoy maneuvering the different parts of the statue of Xquic to get to the end. The story ends with a fitting conclusion for the Yaaxil, a thank you from Crimson Fire aka Chak Chel, and Lara not answering Q'orianka’s question about what’s next. In the end all we get is a sly smile and the knowledge that we are done with this game and its ridiculously priced DLCs.\
