Salt and Sanctuary Review (sjalv)
Instead of seeing YOU DIED, you'll see Obliterated. A lot. So if you like Dark Souls, you'll feel right at home.
I don't like Dark Souls. I play DS3 once a year for a few days until I ragequit and uninstall. I've been stuck on Yhorm boss fight for two years.
I don't like platformers. I'm old and my reflexes are long gone. I had to give up on Ori and Hollow Knight when I ran into a jump I couldn't pull off.
Salt and Sanctuary combines both, so I should hate it. And yet by some luck I managed to choose a paladin as my first character, and went to town two handing a morning star. I died a lot to Sodden Knight, overleveled by grinding (which was surprisingly fun) and took him down in five hits. The next boss fight took a lot more hits, but I still managed to beat her without dying. Or dodging. Or parrying. So I'm unashamedly going to keep overleveling and hope I don't run into a jump I can't pull off.
Edit: Guess what? Thanks to S&S I installed DS 3 again and finally beat Yhorm! Now I'm stuck on Aldrich. I also bought Elden Ring and am terrorizing Limgrave until my vigor is high enough to survive Liurnia. S&S is a shameless overleveler's gateway drug to FromSoft games.
