Saints Row: The Third - The Trouble with Clones Review (Steve)

Holy shit.. This is literally THE worst DLC I’ve ever played in my whole life and Steam currently says I have over 150 of them so this says something. Let’s just start off and say that SR3 doesn’t have the best DLC’s to begin with, that being Genki Bowl is the only good one. This and the Gangsta In Space are ultra trash and the rest are microtransactions. Not just the story that makes no sense is like some fan fiction came true which is weird and out of place but has several plot holes and no connection to future storylines. Also the gameplay and missions suck ass as well.
+About an hour of gameplay
+...New content? (3 missions)
+Get to see Pierce dressed up as a girl and sing to a crowd
+Cool bee gun
+..The superpowers were fun to use
+Johnny is alive!?
-Spoilers Some nerd who is just one of the many default civilian skins makes a clone of Johnny but when Johnny breaks out of his house leaving a hole in his wall it’s just pitch black. Most likely due to the dev’s not caring to add anything there.. Actually I think there was a fence but it was a fence in some black void. Anyways you later go to the nerd’s house who has no hole in his house whatsoever… Did he do it somewhere else? Doubt it… Did they fix it already? No… because there isn’t a fence around his house either
-The new character Jimmy is just a default civilian skin which shows how lazy the dev’s were
-Johnny is just a reskinned brute. Or or to be funny a new Oleg
-Mission spoiler The first mission frustrated the fuck out of me! By far one of the most absolute triggering missions I’ve ever had to complete for a game. The beginning is ok but as soon as you enter Jimmy’s car everything goes to hell. Yeah guys let’s have the player be driven by a dumbass AI we created in his mom’s shitty as car that he’s driving 20 mph while trying to “chase” Johnny. The most annoying thing about it is that you have 4 stars so the national guard is after you which have machine gun mounted trucks and attack helicopters. Let me repeat that, machine gun mounted trucks and attack helicopters against a civilian car that is going about 20 mph at all time and being driven by a bot. Not only that but 2 more negatives! One being the occasional roadblocks that Jimmy won’t ever drive through so he’ll stop until you blow it up leading to you getting shot the fuck out of. BUT THE BIGGEST NEGATIVE? How about that this entire car chase scene is about 10 minutes long and no checkpoints so if you die about 7 minutes in you have to restart the entire chase again and again because of what I’ve already stated. Unbelievable and so unfun.
-When Jimmy comes to pick you up outside the strip club he will sit in his car motionless for a good 30 seconds before moving and allowing you to enter
-Bee gun isn’t unlocked and is only for the mission
-gross BRUTE AISHIA?? EWWW… Also she dies from one rocket yet Johnny can't take infinite and also if she died how is she a homie later?
-I mean this story is some lame Hulk rip-off and has no canon connections to SR4. Like Johnny comes back in SR4 but where is Brute Johnny? Obviously many of the characters in SR3 were left behind in SR4 but wouldn’t their only representation of Johnny be essential? He’s not even mentioned which is why this DLC is even more trash, it’s forgotten in it’s own game series!
-Really super powers from a soda? “Now that’s just lazy writing” - Deadpool
-Cool to see this is where they would go with SR4 but also not because of how stupid it made SR4 and almost if killed off the series of being to “out there”
-Shit ending
This DLC is sitting in my toilet right now. Steaming and smelling like shit, because it is. The story is fucking stupid and doesn’t even connect to the next game which it should. There’s basically no rewards and the first mission is way to fucking hard. Literally nothing but horror in this DLC, dear God I think that the people who recommended this game need a mental evaluation.
