Rune Factory 3 Special Review (Kass)
Rune Factory 3 is a bit more dated compared to it's successors, but in my opinion, has the most charm of all the RF titles. Everybody in this game feels unique, and background art and background music are both gorgeous and for me, bring a lot of nostalgia.
I do wish they'd added some of the quality of life features from RF4, but it's a remaster, not a remake. I'm just happy to play this title again.
I don't have many complaints about the game, but I will mention the ones I do have just in case they're deal breakers for anybody. First of all, the game is not very optimized for keyboard and mouse. I've uninstalled from my pc and have been playing on the steam deck and that works great!
The game also feels a little bit floaty when moving around but it's fairly easy to get used to, and just a product of it being an older game. The buttons have also taken some getting used to, though i'm not entirely sure why. I'll often find myself pressing the A button instead of the B button when I need to do something.
This last one is completely just a personal thing, but I don't like the new voice actress for Daria. In the original she sounded like a more hyperactive version of the artist from Kiki's Delivery Service, but the voice in this version just sounds like a total snob. I get needing to change the cast, but why not find similar voices to the original? Their voice being SO off really took me off guard in a bad way.
