RPG Maker MV: Time Fantasy Review (BossGalaga)
Time Fantasy is a high quality pack in the style of old school SNES Chrono Trigger. If you intend to make a full-fledged game with this here are some caveats and things that you should know before purchasing.
-This is a very popular tileset pack used both in and outside of the RPG Maker community so you may lose a sense of uniqueness in that aspect. If you commit to using this tileset, you're committing to this very specific style so unlike other expansion sets for RPG Maker MV, these resources will likely clash horribly with anything else but Time Fantasy.
-This is only a base tileset of the Time Fantasy DLC so if you're serious about making a game with this then you'll likely need to purchase additional Time Fantasy DLC either from Steam, RPG Maker website or from the creator's website.
-If you purchase this tileset pack from Steam as opposed to Itch or the creator's website, the Steam version is licensed ONLY for use with RPG Maker/Enterbrain/Degica products.
-If you can't tell from the screenshots, these are pixel art style tiles, reminiscent of SNES. Do not expect stunning HD quality if you upscale your game.
-These tiles do not have full auto-tile compatibility, which means you'll need to do quite a bit of shift-mapping, which can be a bit tedious and confusing for new RPG Maker users.
-You will likely need to create your own additional tile assets in the same style of this pack. Some tiles may require modification or adjusting. The creator does provide many templates and additional tilesets for free on his website.
-Weirdly...this pack contains no bushes. Trees, stumps, grass bits, flowers, etc. but not a single bush.
-This pack contains no icons. Those are contained in the Fort and Fauna DLC.
I'm not using this for my current game but it's a nice inspiration.
