Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game Review (ISawedTheDemons)

I really was excited for this game. I enjoyed the pre-release versions and had a good time, but was keen for full release with some more content and more importantly, improvements to the core mechanics.
Unfortunately it seems most of the problems with the gameplay have not been addressed. I feel like I am at war with the controls, constantly fighting missed inputs and poor hit boxes on objects I have clearly got my feet onto or over. These aren't massive issues in isolation, but combined together along with challenges that feel like they were designed on a build of the game without these problems it leads to frustration. And worse, once finally achieving the gold medal, no sense of accomplishment because you don't feel like you've overcome the intended challenge.
I do fully understand that this is a one man job and in that regard its very impressive. The reason I feel so disappointed is because it seemed like the game was improving incredibly well with each update through its early access phase. I do really hope that these issues can be addressed and improved with future updates.
I don't necessarily NOT recommend this game as it runs very well, looks and sounds good, and scratches a parkour itch that often isn't scratched in this way in games. I am mainly voicing my disappointment and criticisms over the 1.0 release of the game.
