RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition Review (Lea Vermeylen)

My name is Leah, I have had 3 copies of this game in total and I have never regretted it.
This review will highlight the cons and pros of RCT3 (Roller Coaster Tycoon 3), if you do not like reading long reviews I recommend passing on my review. That being said I will give my honest personal opinion and history with this game, my first copy was in 2012, the original physical copy which I at the time played on my Dell laptop. The graphics for a game made in 2011 were astounding, more so the gameplay and money managing aspects of this game really nailed it. Not only does this game teach young kids money management but it also teaches it in a manageable bite-sized portions, you screw with the loans and you go bankrupt, you get greedy with that new coaster and you go bankrupt. To mention the varieties of coasters is just breath-taking, from the Air-Powered Coasters to the Wooden Coasters and everything in between you have every type you'll need.
The coaster customisation is amazing to say the bare minimum. You have the options to color your tracks in 3 ways. (Top Icon is the rails, Left is the sides and Right is the supports.) Alongside being able to make the actual coaster multicolor you can do the same for your cars. It's all there from music to lift chain speed. By default the music will be excessively loud but it's quite easy to configure in comparison to other games.
Anyway here are the pros of the game;
- Great Customisation
- Astounding Variety of coasters, food and drink.
- Decent graphics
- Teaches money management
- Doesn't cost as much as a triple A game of the same quality
- Includes all the DLC packs.
- Sandbox mode + Campaign mode
- Can see the coaster in FP
- Very goofy at times (making 350,000KPH coasters, No finish Coasters, 10-20G coasters)
cons of RCT3: Complete Edition;
- Outdated soundtracks
- Glitchy when expanding to x4 the average park
- Campaign takes time to progress
- Campaign is too easy
- The last good iteration of RCT
Hope this was helpful!
