RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business Review (Blackout)
It's decent. not as good as the first one but still a good time.
Now its been 24 hours since release and I've finished the game.
In summary: Overall a positive experience, but a step back from the first. Hopefully bugs will be fixed.
Things that I think people want to know.
- Story is okay.
- Gameplay is more of the same but does feel just a tiny bit scaled back in some aspect.
- Levels are mostly in the same building so rooms and open floors. Kinda wish we could've had abit more of the city.
- Length: 7-10 hours depending on difficulty, chip build, leveling by collectibles and general play style.
- Difficulty: I played on normal and it had its moments of enemies rushing at once that killed me, but late-game I became OP.
- One big annoying thing is there's no Save option as far as I saw, only auto-save. which is fine some times but some side-quests became abit annoying and I don't think it shows you when it auto-saves.
- BUGS. Yeah there's a few, some visual bugs, 2 game crashes and 1 big one that required me to restart my computer. a few notable bugs I want to point out:
1. Towards the middle of the game complete I started encounter a bug that made it impossible to pick up weapons. Particular during a part where you don't have RoboCop's gun. Kinda annoying but seemed to fix itself after the level was over. HOWEVER later on in the game it happened during the final part of the game and it didn't fix itself. As stated before it wasn't a problem because I became too OP with the default gun.
2. Stuttering during entering a new level, loading a checkpoint, right after cut scenes, at the beginning of cut scenes. A bit annoying.
3. Some visual bugs, everything from light going wild, rag-dolls flinging across the room 20 sec after an explosion, out of sync cut scenes, ect. Probably be fixed in a later update, but worth pointing out now.
I honestly think the game is decent, but abit of a step down from the first game. I don't know if it's my own fault, my expectations might have been alittle too high because I liked the first game so much, but overall its an decent time. I'd say $35 is about the price I'd expect from a AA-game, and Im all for more of AA-games.
All of this is written post 100% the game.
Below is my notes from my experience of the first 2 sessions I had of the game.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
1st Edit:
So after 5 hours of playing, encountered a few bugs here and there, usually rag-dolls, some stuttering upon loading and at the beginning of cut scenes and AI that bugs out abit. But overall game seem to chug along quite well. just encountered an "fatal error" crash during a cut scene, but 5 hours on a launch day is as I expect can happen. Overall its fun, not as good as the first game but I'm enjoying it so far.

2nd edit:
Only encountered a few visual bugs but its been a fine experience 7 hours in.
No spoilers, but I think the story is weaker then the first game. I do like it so far. alot smaller areas to walk around in.
