RoboCop: Rogue City Review (Goldrust)

Robocop: Rogue City is one of the best games I have played in the last few years.
I explored every square inch of this game and it took me exactly 20 hours.
This game is a FPS shooter mixed with mild RPG elements, where you get points to upgrade Robocop and his mighty pistol. The game takes place in a small yet extremely detailed city, which you can free roam, complete side missions, and head to the police station to complete main missions.
+ First off, this is one of the best looking games I have ever played. On max settings native 4K, without upscaling, walking around the city took my breath away. The city is wet, messy and dilapidated, with various missions that take you through the city in daylight or during the dark night. What makes the game look photorealistic are the reflections in the puddles on the street as you walk around. The puddles reflect the towers, bridges, street poles around them, and makes for a highly immersive experience. Play with the HUD off, the crosshair off, and the mission objective marker off, for an even more immersive experience.
+ The voice acting in the game is professionally done and sounds amazing. Even the NPCs have some hilarious dialog I would listen to as I walked by them on the streets. Robocop sounds perfect as he speaks, and his dialog is well written, especially with his clever one liners. The bosses are menacing, especially the voice and menacing growl of the ED-209, guaranteed to send shivers down your spine.
+ The environments are painstakingly detailed, both with visual aesthetics and audio immersion. In the police station or hospital, sometimes I would just stand and listen to all the background chatter and sound effects. For example you might hear a doctor talking to his patient about his gall bladder problem in the hospital. In the police station many beeps, chatter, fax machines and phones, little detailed noises are everywhere to keep you fully immersed in the environment.
+ The main story is interesting and keeps you guessing until the very end, with an extremely satisfying grand finale complete with exciting nostalgic boss fights for fans of the 1980s movies. Throughout the game there is a massive web of dialog choices Robocop can make with various characters, this determines how things unfold as the credits roll at the end of the game.
+ I don't think I have ever felt more of a powerful video game character as being Robocop in this game. The developers absolutely nailed the feel of the warehouse shootings of the original movies. Smashing through walls with your fists, grabbing and throwing enemies into each other, blowing off arms and legs of enemies, popping headshots and decorating the walls with blood, all of it was super diabolical and fun. During the last quarter of the game where your pistol becomes an automatic, unleashing death and mayhem on everyone was an insane power trip.
- This game seems to be buggy on lower end computers from what I read on the forums. However, I have not experienced any issues myself during my 20 hour playtime.
- One little nitpick I had with the game was that sometimes when I would throw an enemy, they would fly through walls or get stuck in walls.
- I would have added more achievements, such as beating Robocop on Hard mode, beating Robocop on New Game Plus Mode, or completely upgrading Robocop.
Ambitious love letter to Robocop fans from a very talented team of developers.
Painstaking attention to detail with respect to the Robocop universe.
Overall: 10/10
