RimWorld: Royalty Review (Kerian Halcyon)

Despite appearing like it's not got a lot of substance to it, the Royalty DLC is probably the better out of the current three DLCs (the other two being Ideologies and Biotech in case if this review gets dated) available for Rimworld. Unlike the other two, Royalty manages to improve upon the base Rimworld experience simply by expanding upon existing features as opposed to simply adding new ones to the base experience.
For new players, this DLC will be tough, and this is primarily because in order to get the most benefit of the new features (catering to the new faction, getting more rank and honor, etc), your colony wealth will skyrocket, which in turn will increasea the difficulty of incoming raiders. As gamey as it sounds, I actually recommend doing the Deserter route in the quests after you get your first psycaster, since that gives you some extra options without relying on making an expensive throne room for all your colonists. From there, you can simply accept any building quests the Royals give out, since that automatically boosts your goodwill and you can use that to break your reputation even and avoid the risk of high-tech raids on your doorstep.
Ultimately, this DLC is really good, very high quality, and I wish that the other two emulated it more in terms of feature structure.
