RimWorld: Odyssey Review (Mythicalyst)

I'm not a storyteller, but here's my most interesting story with this expansion.
I got a popup telling me about a nearby site which would be useful to continue upgrading and building my spaceship. I decided to fly out over there, it gave me a warning about the lack of food but I thought it'd be a quick 20 minute adventure, so I ignored it. I landed, and that warning was not lying, there were a few iguanas and that was it. I wasn't too concerned, I had enough food for about a week, so I thought I was good.
There was a problem though, I needed to hack a door, and I needed a pawn with 4 intelligence, I only had a pawn with 3 intelligence. I had to make him research constantly while keeping an eye on my food rations to survive this. While this was going on, I was looking for ways to get some food, I planted some rice in the barren desert soil, I banished my most useless pawn, and while looking around, I noticed what would save me. A cave full of insects. I got the squad together, and stormed that cave to feast on insect flesh. It was a great success, and it bought me some time, but I was still going to run out of food very shortly.
I subsisted on insect flesh for the next few days, training my researcher to 4 intelligence as fast as possible. Once he was capable enough to hack these doors, I got in and sent in my boys and my Militor mech. Inside this vault were more doors to hack and explosive drones which did a number on my poor Militor, but the hacks were quick enough. While I was down there, my power grid failed and started a fire in my ship! I had to run out to put out the fire, and caused a few burns for my pawns as the fire had engulfed an entire bedroom by the time I made it back.
I was just about ready to give up and leave for greener pastures but I decided to hack one final door.
Behind this door had a crate full of survival packages! The relief I felt could not be understated. Everyone got a good feed, and throughout this vault were more crates of survival packages. I left the vault with over 100 packages of food, feeling good that I managed to lead my pawns through this famine. I imagine the pawn I banished probably perished out in the desert unfortunately.
Rimworld truly is a story generator, and this expansion has been the most fun I've ever had in Rimworld. Building a mobile base, travelling around, landing on sites to steal people's shit. It's great. I haven't seen all of it yet, but this might be a contender for the best expansion.
