Revenge of the Savage Planet Review (X-X-JINX)
If you were a fan of their first game Journey to the Savage Plant, then this will impress you just as much. It brings the fun, comedic style that you have become accustomed to and coupled it with the equally as comedic animations to make something that has truly superseded the first title.
Revenge of the Savage Plant (RotSP) takes what we all know and love, and adds more customisation in the form of character and your own base, catching animals to 'research' and new animals to blast to smithereens, all chocked into some new worlds as some great game play. I can't stress enough much fun I have been having jumping around, solving puzzles and blasting some cool looking enemies.
The well written narrative of this game continues on from the first game and again improves upon it with the well shot and well directed videos. The story while being the main portion of this game, doesn't feel overbearing while you continue to traverse the terrain and explore every little shinny thing you find while also giving you the freedom to 100% your favourite planet before you move on (If you have the upgrades) am sure that you will enjoy the game as much as I have so far.
The same upgrade system has been kept and honestly feels really good with the addition of the research items. While I have no gripe with this, it would be nice to get and understanding of what each research does, for example, does it unlock a new colour? Is it just for the achievement? Do all the animals give you something?
Other than that this game is 100000% worth every dollar and if you're looking for a fun game that you can sink hours into then this is the game for you.
