Resident Evil Re:Verse Review (Zen Dog)

I wouldn't say it's THAT bad like so many reviews seem to indicate, but that being said, it's also difficult for me to recommend it. Some reasons:
• First of all, to play, you need to create a Capcom account and link it to your Steam account. So yet another account in the sea of all the accounts you probably already have, just to play video games.
• There are only 3 maps, which, on the one hand, are gradually worn into the muscle memory as they keep circulating (it's another story in itself that you can't choose yourself which map you want to play at the moment), but on the other hand, they become more and more annoying or boring over time. And I haven't heard that there are any more future updates planned.
• Another and much bigger problem is the lack of players, so sometimes you have to wait a very long time until the required number of people are together. And due to the lack of them, the matchmaker is as good as pointless, because for a match to start at all, the game must pit players of any level against each other. This, of course, does not mean anything good for beginners, as they find themselves facing types who have played for a long time and have unlocked all the best modifications for their characters, which generally means that the beginner player will not be able to take even a few steps without already having their wig split.
• From time to time, you see obvious cheaters in the game who tamper with their movement speed, which affects the pace of the entire match, and they are also often immortal. Luckily, there didn't seem to be too many such blatant and obvious cases, but still.
• Some characters (mainly Ada) have very clear advantages over others. A properly configured Ada is very difficult to counter, as she does massive damage from very far away. If we take, for example, Leon, whose trump card is primarily close combat (his main weapon, the shotgun, is basically for shooting from a meter away), then he won't get even close to Ada when his wig's already split. So quite often, you can see overpowered Adas dominating the playground.
In conclusion, I'd say if it got regular updates, if it was possible to select the maps as desired, if finding a match was much faster and if cheating was not possible, it would already be a lot better game. But whoever got it for free anyway, it may be interesting to check it out for a few hours or, for example, to catch achievements. Still, I certainly understand the disappointment of die-hard RE fans and those who expected Capcom to make a RE multiplayer game with a solid vision. This doesn't seem to be it.
