Resident Evil Re:Verse Review (Viscarious)
I actually like the core gameplay of Re:Verse but I have a few major gripes.
Pros:
+ Moment to moment gameplay actually feels good.
+ Rotating between humans and monsters keeps things fresh and interesting.
+ The different humans to play as with their different weapons and skills provides variety.
Cons:
- Match length is too short at 5 minutes. It should be less than 20 minutes, but at 5 minutes a match feels over before it's even begun.
- Progression is painful. I'm all for character customization but the power-based progression can make matches feel imbalanced.
- The microtransactions feel cash grabby especially for a game already locked behind a purchase.
- Some of the worst menu UI/UX I've ever seen in a game. Progression menus and quests are hidden in the menu UI/UX and many things in the UI/UX aren't clearly explained.
I know some people have griped about disconnects and lag but I personally didn't experience any of that.
What can Capcom due to fix this game?
1. Make the matches longer and add some kind of progression within the match. For example, the more powerful monsters could be unlocked later in the match or require 'points' to use them, similar to Battlefront 2.
2. Remove microtransactions and make all cosmetics unlockable through the earned currency.
3. Allow players to personalize human/monster perks, but don't lock it behind progression.
4. Improve the menu UI/UX
