Resident Evil Re:Verse Review (Kenstagator)

Resident Evil PvP: A Shallow and Unbalanced Battle Royale That's So Bad, You Just HAVE To Drag Your Friends Into It.

Have you ever wanted to play as your favorite Resident Evil characters in a PvP setting? It sounds exciting, right? Well, Resident Evil PvP might not live up to your expectations. When I first heard about this game, I was eager to dive into the Resident Evil universe and face off against other players. However, my enthusiasm quickly waned as I realized that this game falls short in several key areas.
To start, the character selection is quite limited. You can choose from six characters: Chris, Jill, Leon, Claire, Ada, and Hunk. While it's fun to play as these iconic characters, the balance between them is way off. Some characters have abilities and weapons that make them significantly more powerful than others. For instance, Hunk can go invisible and deliver powerful close-range attacks, but his invisibility is ineffective as players can spot him easily. On the other hand, characters like Ada feel almost useless with their less potent weapons. This imbalance affects the overall gameplay experience.
In Resident Evil PvP, you collect virus samples while you're alive in a match, and once you've collected enough, you can transform into a monster. This mechanic should be exciting, right? Well, not quite. The available monsters are limited, and none of them are zombies, which is baffling for a Resident Evil game. These monsters don't feel unique, and fighting as a monster isn't as thrilling as it should be. They all have similar basic attacks and skills, and getting killed by a monster can be a frustrating experience as they can easily stun-lock you.
Moreover, the game's progression system leaves much to be desired. You can buy skills using points to enhance your character's abilities, but you can only purchase each skill once. Some skills are locked behind the battle pass, which can be frustrating. I found the progression system to be lacking, and it didn't give me a sense of improvement.
The game only offers two maps and a single game mode, which quickly becomes repetitive. Additional game modes and more maps would have added much-needed variety to the experience. The lack of feedback when taking damage is also frustrating. Your controller doesn't vibrate when you're shot at, leaving you with no indication of incoming damage.
While the game does introduce a unique progression system through its battle pass, the short match duration and crossplay with higher-ranked PC players can make matches challenging. The crossplay feature, while great for connecting players across platforms, can lead to frustrating experiences when facing highly skilled opponents.
Overall, Resident Evil PvP, despite its potential, falls short in providing an engaging and balanced PvP experience. With limited character choices, a lack of variety in monsters, and an unexciting progression system, the game leaves much to be desired. Unless significant improvements are made, it's challenging to recommend this game when there are more enjoyable PvP options available.
This Game is a Total Crap Show but if you gather your friends and do matches together, it's ridiculously fun. This game is fun in terms of making content. Recreationally? Nah. You're better off playing DBD.
