Red Dead Online Review (Tsokon)
"Have you ever heard the tragedy of Red Dead Online?"
"No."
"I thought not. It's not a tale the cowboys would tell you. It's a gamer legend. Red Dead Online was a game so vast and immersive, players could ride across the Wild West and live a life of crime or heroism, forging their own path. It had such attention to detail, players could even form posses and go bounty hunting."
"They could actually... create their own story?"
"The open world of Red Dead Online is a gateway to many experiences... some consider to be extraordinary."
"Wh– What happened to it?"
"Well, as the game's popularity grew, the developers saw an opportunity to capitalize on its success. They started prioritizing monetization over enhancing the core experience. As a result, they introduced numerous microtransactions and paid content that provided little value to the players."
"Did that... ruin the game?"
"Over time, it did. As the developers became more focused on their greed for money, they neglected the essential aspects of the game and its community. Players began to lose interest, feeling that the game was becoming more of a cash grab than an immersive Wild West experience. The once thriving community started to dwindle, leaving behind a shell of what was once a remarkable game."
"Is there any hope for Red Dead Online?"
"Perhaps, but it would require the developers to refocus their priorities and work to rebuild the trust of the players. Only then could the game could become what it was always supposed to be."
