Rebel Inc: Escalation Review (Eko Keko)
Aside from all the meme and people that can't git gud reviews of Rebel Inc. I am going to attempt making a proper review.
Rebel Inc. is simplistic yet unique managment game that further encapsulates Ndemic's ethos. For casual players it's unforgiving and negligent when comes to teaching you the game, but because it's a strategy game with different governers and geographies having a tutorial that's satisfactory for general audience would have shrouded the actual game. Though the complaints surrounding the lack of tips around the basics of the game is still valid. I had to look up some tutorials to understand the first map as well. Neverthless there isn't a need for further information about the game after understanding the basic cursors such as corruption, inflation and support level of the people. I do hold the belief that first few maps, after learning which initiatives should you press and when, follow a very same pattern and that's deal breaker for many. If I didn't believe that it would open up to additional tactics later into the game I would have given it a bad review too.
There are different governers and advisors that you can customise for your own plan of action on a given map. It sounds great on paper but most of my time in different maps it felt as if there are specific governers for specific maps. It could be my approach to particular conflict's resolution so I can't get a verdict on that.
Rebel Inc. ,as I've said before, a simplistic game that's still getting updates to this day. In my opinion people should not review games before seeing majority of the content it holds. It does create distinctive predicements with uncomplicated cursors. But sadly for casual players it doesn't expose what lies ahead in progression of the late game. If you know what you are going into, in an other word if you played Plaque Inc. , it's very well worth it to buy.
