Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army Review (Skaiyly)
High recommend to gamers who like atlus games and/or action jrpgs. solid 7 or 8/10. Work perfectly fine on a steam deck, and had basically a perfect first day launch with preload. However i will say theres no need to spend any money on the dlcs they dont add anything to story and dont affect 100% achievements. There has to be almost to no bugs, if anyone experienced any there no way it was game breaking. Playing this game with little to no knowledge of the original game back in the ps2 era, will still be a enjoy. Storywise nothing crazy and pretty easy to follow, would definitely say compare to other atlus games this game is pretty lowkey, in terms of "plot twists". Timewise itll take 20 to at most 25hours to complete the story bareboned.
Fusions and demon collecting were done nicely and simple while keeping the game loop engaging. The case stories short and to the point, with the rewarding being somewhat worth it by including at times new demons to be able to fuse. Boss battles were definitely challenging no matter the difficulty that was chosen. Trust after completing the game to unlock new game plus with Detective Legend difficulty and fighting the last boss was a quick reminder we are playing a SMT game. This game atmosphere was created wonderfully with keeping the dark and the old era the og had. I will say this remaster taking out the over-world battle was a amazing choice, since it gives us more time to explore the environment and to talk to every npcs.
Voice acting for both English and Japanese were perfect. Plus, every line was done by a voice actor. Also, the demons saying raidous "name" and talking gave them so much lice to the point i hope furture smt/persona games bring this back in a way. However, I didnt think the music was up to par with most atlus games, dont get it twisted the main song was jazzy as hell. Maybe it was the undertones of p5 in other songs that made me dislike it since it felt reuse and overuse. Money would be my biggest complaint is it was so little to get after battles even with upgrading skills. Overall, im pumped for the (hopefully) sequel to get remastered as well.
