Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army Review (Shows)
Another banger from atlus as usual. I love Gouto, I want him to meet Morgana. I've had some interest in Raidou since he appears in SMT3 Nocturne and I'm finally glad to do so. I like that the silly pre-order Raidou glasses show up everywhere in game, to even cutscenes. I love having my demon friends follow me around and be happy about investigating.
I'm not the best with these action rpg games, but I like the combat. I didn't really use defend that much. The amount of controls the game has does seem daunting at the beginning, but I was able to change a few keybinds to make keyboard and mouse work. OST is PEAK, shoji meguro my goat. I will admit I wasn't expecting the story to go in the direction of sci-fi and time travel shenanigans (even if I was able to figure it out from dialogue). That is quite an unusual direction for a game in the SMT universe to go into, but maybe more games do that than I thought and I just haven't played them yet. The puzzles are pretty straightforward and require a little bit of thinking, except for an optional one in the last area of the game where I knew what to use but I had to trial and error the combination.
Some gripes:
- The audio mixing in this game. I haven't changed my audio settings and left it at the default which should be highest volume. I feel that a good amount of times, the voiced dialogue can be too quiet.
- I wish there were more skills for demons. I feel like I can't really go that crazy with builds. Coming up with builds for demons is one of my favorite things in SMT and I just feel like my demons builds are just too similar.
