Protodroid Delta Review (Rarewolf)
The game, was rough around the edges. a lot of small bugs that are not game breaking, just a bit annoying.
in summary,
game was fun! they did very good with the save function cause for someone that works it makes it easier to just jump back on and play again. i dont recommend stopping right before a boss fight cause youll have to remember the controls if you leave it for more than a week! lol
$17 the sweet spot for this game in my opinion.
full price is if you really want to support the developers which i think they deserve it either way.
unlockable content felt lacking. but fair.
story was good.
i would definitely recommend if you like playing these types of games.
for my full review:
The controls, surprisingly good. as fluid as honey. really good but i personally wish i could do more with it. like in a good hack and slash.
graphics, i enjoyed them. its an indie game and i wasnt expecting the most amazing graphics.
3D graphics are on point, the only thing that would need polishing is the cutscenes. it feels like all the work went to the 3D and the 2D was left closer to concept art. i was letting the trailer play in the background and i saw that they had some amazing animation in it but you dont really get that fluid animation when playing the cutscenes.
unlockables for the game were good. but it felt lacking.
the tribute skins were a nice touch and you can easily unlock if not hunting them down i believe.
it was not time consuming, the game saves were placed nicely. i was appreciative for that, i work so not having to redo a whole stage is very nice, though im sure there are people out there that would like that challenge and id recommend for them to add the ability to limit or increase save points in the settings.
the story, it was - pretty good!
felt like a lot of trope check boxes were marked. lol
not a bad thing but not a good thing either. a regular story and there is nothing wrong with that.
i still recommend the game. its worth playing.
