Protodroid Delta Review (blueisland)
This is a good game but it has A HUGE lack of features.
-There are no save FILES. Maybe I have to finish the whole game before I can reset my progress, but in a game, you get one save file that can't be reset. Even if a single save file was part of the developer's vision, I should be allowed to reset my progress whenever I want.
-no keyboard rebindings. I can forgive it in a Visual Novel where the main gameplay is reading, but in a 3D platformer, it's uncomfortable to play with the default controls.
-No setting. AT ALL. The title screen is just "Play" and "Quit". Combind that with the lack of a file select and it begs the question of why do you even have one? Nothing can be adjusted without modding the game itself.
At the time of writing, I'm making a game myself, so I get that the process of making a game is hard. The core game is fun and if that's all you want, then I recommend this game. The dash is fun, storing charged shots is a great addition, and level design makes the most of it. To some people, that's enough to recommend.
If you need any of the above features this game lacks, I say skip it.
