Would be a much better game if it got updates. If anyone who doesn't own this game is wondering if you should buy it, wait till it goes on sale again for $5. - 8.3/10
The Pros -
1 . Game has fun gameplay once you take the time to learn and after a couple of hours, if you are willing to learn the mechanics, makes your time playing much more enjoyable.
2. While the community can be a bit rash and unhinged, there are the players which are friendly and willing to give you tips even if you are brand new.
3. The ranked mode makes finding matches quick and easy for new players to hop in and just simply get to playing.
4. Very lightweight on your pc, you could run this game on a rock.
The Cons -
1. Very few updates to the game. The game received the most players it has ever gotten back in December of last year and yet the devs have not sent out any update fixing certain issues or bringing new content to the game.
2. The tutorial is pretty well versed teaching new players mechanics of the game, it could be better explaining concepts such as offsides to those who don't understand it.
3. The character appearance customizer is a fun little feature, but is limited with its hair styles, cleat/boot variations, and kit options.
4. Currently there is no reward system and the "coins" seen at the top left next to your avatar in the main menu serve no purpose what so ever.
Suggested changes -
1. Create a reward system where coins can be spent to buy new items for your character, or make a ranking system which rewards you for leveling up rather than level just being a number and having no meaning to it.
2. Add a timer to how long goal keepers can hold the ball for when catching it after a shot. Currently, a goal keeper could hold the ball for as long as he wants within his box without ever needing to pass it. The timer does stop while a keeper has the ball, but who says the winning team's keeper wont hold onto the ball until the other team leaves.
3. Along with the reward system, add more appearance options giving players more variety of things to add to their characters such as shorts and sock height, more hair styles, the option to save a multiple appearances and have 4 or 5 saved appearance slots, tattoos, more boot and cleat variations (high and low top cleats and who knows even maybe branded cleats from real football brands).
4. Add a new stadium for ranked. The same stadium gets slightly boring after multiple hours and games on it, something like a night stadium with lights would be cool.
5. Make ranked an official mode. Maybe experiment with a captain system where 2 people are picking their teams.
At the moment, the game in its core with mechanics is great, but desperately needs a new breath of life with more content and a reward system for player's achievements and potentially even MVP and team MVP awards.
