PowerWash Simulator: Back to the Future Special Pack Review ([☭]-Soviet-Triumph-)
Features 5 levels from the Back to the Future franchise, and here's my personal observation of how well they're done.
1. Doc Brown's Van
Not a correct recreation. The van's front is altered to not pay GMC their license fees, and the side letters are wrong. Not only is the font different it says "DR. E BROWN ENTERPRISES" when it should be "DR.E.BROWN ENTERPRISES" This level is objectively bad because first it's not adequately screen accurate and second not very fun to play. I mean, it's a cargo van. N64 hardware is enough to render this van's geometry. 1/5.
2. The Time Machine
Either because of the greed of Universal, or the stubbornness of Wynne's DeLorean Texas, the DMC badge is again, deleted from this rendition of The Time Machine like in most of the recent non-collector tier merchandises. Proportion is messed up, it's not Car Mechanic Simulator 2015 bad, but seriously, why didn't they use photographic references in the initial stages of modelling? This is THE car these movies are known for. The game has accurate separate names on fictional parts that correspond to 2021 Haynes manual written by Gale and Walser so that's a good news, but not enough. 2/5.
3. Hill Valley Clocktower
1955 version. Pillar top is in a different design, probably made this alteration to make the players job easier because the original design is a pain in the ass to clean. The inside of the tower is bit too simplified, but they had to imagine everything inside because in the actual set, only the facade is built with the intent of being shown. Understandable. Roman numerals of the clock look off, but the Panther statues are spot on. In general, very decent. 5/5.
4. Holomax Theater
Curtain wall is not steep enough but apart from that it is fine. Spielberg's son's name didn't make the cut but that is to be expected. You can trigger the hologram from the second movie but it doesn't go far enough down to the ground level and the animation just ends midair. A bit disappointing. 4/5.
5. Doc's Time Train
This train is underappreciated and barely sees the light, so it's good they showed it here... But again they failed to do a proper job on modelling. Flux capacitor is too large and its frontmost wheels are too small. Two major flaws that are too noticeable, among others. They still have the original prop in Orlando for everyone who's visiting the park to see. And the end scene of the third movie alone provides more than enough, the train literally pulls a 360. This is just a job poorly done. Like in the case of the DeLorean game lists the names of all the fictional sci-fi props. 3/5.
This is $4 DLC at MAX as its 2 of 5 levels are just one small vehicle(Jules Verne train is somewhat large, at least). Its $8 price is only justifiable if this was 100% screen accurate with all the proper licensing and details but that is not the case like I wrote above. I also find that Biff's car not being in it as a huge missed opportunity, the guy paying 300 dollars to fix the manure damage is literally in the script. And oh, the guy who texts you gives off a huge neckbeard vibes. So that's another annoyance. Not enough for the fans of the movie, not enough for the players who're just looking to clean stuff. This DLC fails to satisfy both crowd and is hardly recommendable.
