PowerWash Simulator: Back to the Future Special Pack Review (FoofDeckman)
Back to the Future is one of my favorite movies of all time, and to see it getting a dedicated DLC for one of my favorite games of the past few years got me really excited. While a lot of people had issues with the previously released Spongebob DLC, I came out of that overall enjoying my time with it, because at the end of the day It was more Powerwash levels, but with the coat of paint from one of my favorite shows I grew up with. Unfortunately I can only describe this Back to the Future DLC as half baked and a clear downgrade from the previous one's quality. Every couple of months, the developers have added these free content packs that add a handful of levels for everyone to try. Now these levels aren't revolutionary or anything like that, but for free content, I was completely content with it's quality as "extra content". This Back to the Future DLC feels like it should have been free content, each level is extremely small, and I managed to beat all 5 of its levels in around 2 hours of gameplay and all of them felt really underwhelming. Now don't get me wrong, it's not like these are bad levels or anything, but when the same game offers a Final Fantasy 7 DLC and Tomb Raider DLC with better and more in depth levels that are actually worth your time, FOR FREE, $8 for a mediocre pack is way too much. Even as a Back to the Future fan this didn't scratch the Itch I had hoped for, I can think of so many other iconic locations they could have picked from for this pack, like the Diner, Biff Tower, Doc Brown's House, The School Dance, The Wild West street, literally anything else, but instead it feels like they picked a handful of boring locations on purpose. Why in the world would you choose to make a level around the theater where the giant hologram shark pops out over any of those that I just listed, You see the theater in Back to the Future 2 for not even 20 seconds, to add insult to injury they didn't even change the background to make it even look slightly futuristic. I really hope the next DLC for powerwash is significantly better than this was, because I feel extremely disappointed by it.
