PowerWash Simulator: Back to the Future Special Pack Review (charbug)
Loved the first two films as a kid, so getting this was supposedly a no-brainer.
But this DLC pack is really just... lame. I can only compliment 2 out of 5 levels that are in this;
the Holomax Theatre had a cool design and a cool callback to the shark-projection scene. Doc's Train had so many intricate details and moving mechanisms that it was hard not to find it cool to look at while cleaning.
The fact I didn't bring up the Delorean is a big issue for a BTTF dlc.
You spend so little time cleaning it and dont even get to open the wing doors to clean the inside. And I think the devs new fans would be disappointed because-
In-game, you receive text messages from the supposed person who gave you the job to clean. In other DLCs, you would have characters from the universe you're cleaning message you, whether its little quips or random factoids on how the place got dirty. Shrek's DLC had Farquad, Donkey, etc. Alice In Wonderland's with the Queen of Hearts, Rabbit, etc.
This DLC however goes for this 4th-wall breaking concept where a random Universal Studios Intern simply relays the events of the films to you in text. During the "Time Machine" level, you can read one of the messages this intern sends, saying something along the lines of "There's a lot of serious electronic doo-dads on the inside, so we had to lock the doors, sorry!"
As a player, that just read to me as "We didn't design that/finish it. Sorry if youre disappointed."
And if we wanna talk about a REAL boring vehicle, Doc's Van also isn't able to be cleaned from the inside. It's just a big white rectangle with his name on it.
You don't get to clean the entire Clocktower. There are spotless rooms and staircases they make you walk through to get to the grime at the top of the building and it feels so off that they left those areas untouched.
TL;DR - Buy this if you want 100% achievements or did all the other DLCs you actually like.
