PowerWash Simulator: Back to the Future Special Pack Review (Baka)
I'm not really a BTTF fan like i am a spongebob fan so this dlc never majorly interested me and i dont know much about the movies themselves or anything so forgive me on that front. but regardless my opinion from the spongebob dlc literally carries over except worse now. This DLC just like the spongebob one has great attention to detail and passion for the media its adapting but once again the dlc just falls flat from not having enough.
I don't feel like typing it out all again so ill list all the issues i have with this dlc a lot of which carried over from the spongebob one.
Levels like the time machine level and the van level need to stop being made and something needs to be done to extend them they honestly just waste space for the dlc and take up what few levels we get with a level that can be finished in less than 2 minutes
Preset loadouts are dumb. What is the point of having a campaign to progress if everything you unlock from it is null in all the other content you make us use the highest tier washer anyway there's no harm in just letting our campaign loadouts carry over so we can challenge ourselves by using lower tier washers, id say it adds an aspect of replayability for people who'd like to challenge themselves.
Lack of any new items... This one is especially crazy to me, the fact we don't get a new nozzle from these dlcs or at least a new character or powerwasher skin is crazy, plus the money from these jobs are garbage which i can reasonably understand cuz they probably don't want us to use dlc pack money to buy out the shop but why do we get money in the first place when for players like me we don't even get new items for us to use that money on in the shop
Nothing worth coming back too after finishing the campaign. There's no reason to come back to this dlc after finishing the 10 achievements and the 5 levels sure i can replay the levels but when there's other levels i could be replaying as well you have to ask the question if they are worth replaying and for a few of them at least id say no
Having achievements behind a paid DLC in general. this is dumb don't do this. i literally have to spend 8 bucks just to keep my 100% status that's not cool
And that's all. Now i can go into things FuturLab can do to fix these issues
Starting simple with achievements
Don't add achievements to the paid DLCS only add them to the free levels we get orrrrrrrrr read the next paragraph to hear a possible 3rd idea
Add new items to these DLCs not just levels, the spongebob DLC literally already has a custom outfit and washer skin for the dlc that should've been a reward for finishing the DLC and its not but it should be and this one has literally nothing i hope they start working on adding cosmetic items and possibly even special nozzles to these dlcs to not only make them more worth the price but more worth playing in general. there could even be challenges that you do maybe those challenges could be related to the achievements, instead of having the achievements go onto steam have in game achievements that are separate from the steam ones, these are specific to the paid DLCs only. and when you do these in game achievements you get some random items i think this is a fun idea that knocks two issues off the list.
For having things to come back too a challenge mode would be great, i mean we already have one for the campaign why not have one for the dlcs too. they could also just update these dlcs i feel like its a crime getting access to spongebob and other IPs and not adding as much as you can with them. like fortnite has tons and tons of marvel and other Disney IP skins because Epic got a hold of them and they aren't letting that chance slip Futurlab can do the same by pushing content updates for these dlcs adding new levels and new in game achievements to keep the dlcs fresh this is probably a big ask but i feel like its worthwhile in the long run cuz the reception of these dlcs are going down fast having new t hings in them to look forward too would greatly benefit them instead of them being one and done type purchases
Preset loadouts. stop making us use them? we have a main campaign let all of our progress everywhere else funnel from that, unless the player who's trying to play the DLC has a lower tier powerwasher then you can have a preset loadout but still allow us to use our other collected items
For short levels like the time machine and the van level merge them and come up with other things to clean inside that level. the whole story of this DLC is it taking place on a movie set. build a movie set around the van and the time machine and have us clean that too, instead of having two jobs that take place in the same area with two vehicles that can be cleaned in like 4 minutes max
and that's pretty much everything covered. i want this game to do better because i enjoy this game a lot but these dlcs are going downhill fast and if they don't shape up we might not get anymore which if they stick to this current model for how they are id prefer that regardless make some changes futurlab they are needed greatly
