Poppy Playtime Review (neupsy)
Review for Poppy Playtime (Episode 1)
🕹️ Playtime: 2 hours
👎 Rating: Mixed
"Bought it because of the hype—cool atmosphere, but way too short and underwhelming."
Poppy Playtime was all over the internet when it dropped, and I caved in to the hype. The game has a really cool, creepy atmosphere, and the idea of exploring an abandoned toy factory with giant, killer toys is genuinely unsettling. The graphics and sound design are great, and it has the potential to be a great horror experience.
However, the game is way too short. You can breeze through it in just a couple of hours. The story, while intriguing, feels underdeveloped, and by the end, you're left wondering what happened to the promise of deeper lore. The puzzles are fun, but they don’t offer much challenge, and there’s little to do once you finish the game.
Pros:
Creepy atmosphere with great visuals
Fun and unique concept with the toys and factory setting
Easy-to-grasp mechanics and puzzles
Cons:
Very short—can finish in a couple of hours
Story feels incomplete and leaves too many questions
Little replay value once you've seen everything
Feels like a setup for future episodes, but not much payoff in this one
If you’re just here for the experience and don't mind the short playtime, it can be fun. But honestly, there are better horror games out there that offer more depth and value for your time. Not a strong recommendation for those expecting a full experience. 🎮👀
