Planet Zoo: Tropical Pack Review (jcp011c2)
Great animal selection and while I wish we'd gotten an animal pack, the scenery is nice.
There is one big issue though. The sloth is an exhibit animal , which is being an exhibit animal is not the big issue for me. It's the exhibit trading market and how it works. With the Exhibit Markets, Frontier is the only one putting animals out, meaning that other players cannot submit and trade these animals. Exhibit Storage is also not transferable between your entire franchise, so with each different zoo you must go through the laborious "waiting game" before a Sloth will pop up.
The fact is that we have to start from scratch with the sloths in every single zoo, totally depending on what Frontier releases, pray the timing is right and the few animals they release every half hour or so do not get snapped up by other players who are also playing that same waiting game.
It's very frustrating. The Sloth is probably the most wanted animal out of this pack and is nearly impossible to get. I've literally set, pressing refresh every minute, for over 4 hours, just to get one sloth. One. For one of my zoos. It's honestly taking away the enjoyment with this pack.
I "barely" recommend this pack, because the other animals are great and I'm especially happy we got the Red River Hog. But if you're mainly interested in the sloth, prepare to be frustrated or hope you're extremely lucky. If the Sloth is the main reason you want the pack, wait for a while before you buy this. . Maybe Frontier will change how they're releasing them, or at least in a few months most of the core players will have probably managed to get what they're wanting to get. Maybe...I just can't see how this is alright though.
