Pinball FX: Charity Pack Review (Spock)
Epic Quest is pretty good.
Excalibur isn't great, unfortunately. I initially liked it, but as it is currently being used as an event table.. I've had to play it multiple times per day for a while now and have discovered, I dont like it much. The theme is very cool, and it has potential to be awesome. But they kind of dropped the ball on this one. Primary reason, many of the missions require you to get onto the mini play field and "fight" opponents. It's easy enough to hit the right ramp to get onto the mini play field, however the mini play field itself is a joke, imo. Never once completed a fight. The flippers are tiny and its exceptionally hard to aim from them, the gap between them is exceptionally wide, so good luck aiming and good luck keeping the ball from draining. I'm lucky to hit the target once or twice before it drains the ball back into the big play field. To make matters worse, the pay off for actually hitting the target and then the opponent is laughable for how hard it is to do. After a while I find myself annoyed that I'm stuck doing a mission that requires the mini playfield. It's just disappointing, at this point. I'm not a pro pinballer or anything, and I probably just suck, but at the same time, it just seems silly with how many times I've attempted it by now.
I'll still recommend the pack, as Epic Quest is a pretty cool table and it's not a huge price to pay. And it's for charity.
