Persona 3 Reload Review (Armored Fetis)
If you're going to ask for full game price for a remake, I expect quality and effort. So far, I've been disappointed. I'm fine with some things not being animated cutscenes that were in the original, but in key moments, like Orpheus awakening, not having the hand drawn animated cutscene feels awful. Sure, they had a rendered cutscene, but it just isn't the same. The remixed songs have mostly been not great, which is a shame because I really enjoyed the original's soundtrack. I'm mostly fine with the art direction, however, not drawing the protagonist's clothes feels lazy. There's just a shadow over the clothes. Also, there still isn't a definitive way to play this game, which a remake should have fixed. There's no female protagonist option, no The Answer, and no Desert of Doors. Junpei doesn't sound as good or as young as he did in the original game. The recommended specs are from 10 years ago and yet, I get framerate dips on my hardware that's 5 years old in the dorm room or when literally any combat effect happens. I'm going to continue to play the game because the frustrating thing about FES and the original was not being able to control your party members and this game gives you that, but so does Portable. Maybe they'll add the content in DLC, but considering what feels like a lack of effort and an insane asking price for the base game, even if they did, I might not buy it
