Payday 2: Buluc's Mansion Heist Review (FireDrake)
The heist is pretty good in concept, like most other 1-day big raid-to-building heists, and has pretty fun steps when everything goes right, like the homemade bomb and the animal puzzle. However, more than once it has become a dicey situation, especially in the library with little cover, which turned a heist into a failure or close with chained deaths.
But the main reason for me giving a thumbs down is this: THIS HEIST IS NOW BROKEN AND CRASHES ALL THE TIME. It can be a couple minutes at the start, it can be very far in, but it will crash if you stay permanently. If you're lucky and you rush it, you can complete it before it happens. But be advised, it will probably take a lot of restarts...
Back when it was released it was alright. Then a couple months ago a friend wanted an achievement so I hosted it... and it crashed. Several times. I thought it was my mods, despite no recent updates, so I hosted it without them, and it crashed some more times. I desisted and waited for it to be solved and forgot about it. But yesterday, a friend who has never touched mods bought the DLC and hosted it, and guess what? A crash shortly after. I cannot believe it hasn't been solved all this time. Memory overflow? A badly loaded script? I have no idea, but i'm certainly not touching this heist again.
Especially because we tried it a second time, and managed to complete everything, thinking the crash was a one time thing... crashed when securing the bags in the chopper. Fool me once...
