Oxygen Not Included: Spaced Out! Review (OwlBeeBag)
It has come a long way since 2017. Slime lung is no longer fatal and Chlorine gas vents don't have a lot of use anymore apart from killing surface germs, even then it is outclassed by radiation.
1. Multi-planetary is just new game plus - If you destroyed your colony in your current planet or just the piping got so ugly you wanted to burn it to the ground, you could just chuck your dupes in a rocket and take them to the next planet and start everything over. Since you can carry manufacturing material and science over, your base can have end game things like nuclear reactor from the start.
2. Radiation for killing germs - Being able to wire a germ detector to a radiation lamp in the drinking water pool is the most "space age" thing ever. Put a not gate to the water pump so that it doesn't start pumping until all germs are dead.
3. Plug slugs and metal volcanoes - Plug slugs are actually quite great for mid game power if you feed them off metal volcanoes. They basically become night solar panels at that point but not as weak sauce.
4. Anal fixation - Everything in this game, from critters to even the plastic maker eats stuff and poops stuff out. Just look at the plastic maker closely doesn't that look like turd?
5. Dehydrator - You can now make certain foods NEVER perish. It is good for long space missions if you don't have access to sleet wheat for berry sludge.
This 10$ game quickly became the most played game in my steam library clocking over 200 hours. Far outclassing many full price AAA games I played.
