Outward: The Three Brothers Review (Dakart)
Nowadays, you get the DLCs alongside the Definitive Edition; even so, I feel I have to add a review here. The zone design for this area is half-baked (quite literally). I think the volcanic rock was an excuse for the developers to not bother with the care and love they put into the rest of the game's areas. It feels like a DLC barely out of the initial development phase: just oceans of black rock with a Maize plant stuck at random spots. It's incredibly basic and underwhelming.
As for the enemies, they are a test for fully-developed characters, little else. And they're also placed in incongruent locations. Gorillas and giants cohabiting the same cave? Sure, why not.
Plenty of people have remarked on the city-building and I'll have to agree. It's primitive, grindee, and serves only as a moneysink tied into the DLC's progression.
Outward as a whole is amazing, but this DLC is laboriously unfun, through and through.
