Ori and the Blind Forest Review (ALT+F4)
It's obvious that this game was a labor of love. Everything, from the meticulously drawn backdrops to the incredible soundtrack to the genuinely moving story, is made with such attention to detail and raw passion that you feel like you're playing a Pixar movie. It's a Metroidvania, but not a super hardcore one; navigation and the various abilities you acquire are pretty straightforward and don't require hours of practice to master. However, the game is a bit on the linear side. There's just not a lot of side stuff to do unless you want to go collectible hunting for max stats. Also, the little escape sequences after you finish a dungeon can be somewhat unforgiving since they're timed, but I thought they were a fun change of pace.
I recommend the game just for the visuals and music alone, but the game in its entirety is highly enjoyable.
