Orbital Bullet Review (Kanubai)

What's good:
The gameplay is legit, the guns have good variety and the movement is mostly nice and clean. i tend to get locked into the ledge climbing animation when i dont mean to, but that rarely feels bad thanks to the invincibility frames during it. i enjoy the gameplay against mobs a ton

What's bad:
Needs a ton of quality of life tweaks. Lots of little things. Sprites are in a run animation during cutscenes. grenade throw angle is annoying and unchanging. changing enemy attack colours so they're all visible on the different colour palettes of each world (particularly on the orange-y filters. very hard to see attacks and enemies). being able to let go of a wall im moving towards by holding down or something, instead of moving the other way.

boss fights in this are pretty boring, and easily the weakest part of the game. its very 'my turn, your turn, my turn, your turn,' and a lot of is waiting until i can do damage again. few of their invincible attacks are threatening, so its doubly boring. the final boss is probably the weakest part of the game, imo.

Weapon type balance needs some work. Explosives with the explosion guard is easily the strongest build. I melt most bosses and enemies with them, using only one gun and never running out of ammo. I tried exactly one bullet run, got the dream build, and still did less than an average explosive build.

Game is also very snowbally. If you can do dimension rifts without getting hit consistently you will be much stronger than someone who doesn't go in any of them. if you dont get hit you can spend more money on perks, too.

but overall i enjoyed the game. took me 10 hours to finish the game at overcharge 0 and 1.
