Old Skies Review (PB_Gaming)
First and foremost I would love to thank the gods for putting me into the same timeline where Dave Gilbert lives.
Now that's out of the way...
While I haven't completed the game yet (I just Started Chapter 5) I have to say that this game exceeded my expectations, especially Chapter 4 which I won't spoil, but I’ve never seen a puzzle more brilliant than the video puzzle at the end of Chapter 4(.3)
If you love Dave Gilbert (and you love him, cause as they say: "Duh") then you will definitely love this game, if you love point and click games, then you found the best on the market, seriously. If you are as much of a sci-fi geek and time travel fanatic as I am, then this is more than anything you can imagine, it's crazy how Time Travel stories could differentiate since I've seen Steins;Gate, The Lazarus Project, Dark, I've played Life is Strange, 12 minutes, Until Then, and I've read Recursion by Blake Crouch as well but Old Skies is yet again a story that doesn't feel like a copy of any of those mechanics, but a completely fresh and new one, which honestly makes me love it even more. Old Skies's story gets you deal with identity crisis, and makes you wonder about all the paths you never took, even when the opportunity presented itself. It keeps on getting better, so honestly you should play the game rather than reading this review, since I'm pretty sure that by reading this review the timeline significance of you not getting surprised by the game will be Extremely High.
And... you wouldn’t want that. Trust me, this is one divergence best left untaken
