These are the words that i will remember this game by. Not for broadcast is a story rich choices matters game. You are directing the broadcasts of the channel called Channel One. This is your main job but the story is also effected by your actions in your own life. Overall, the game offers you 15 different endings, which is the highest number of endings i have seen in this type of a game.
In the game you are working for channel one as the director but you also have a wife and 2 kids. There are like 10 episodes with multiple segments in the game. The story also interferes with your own private life and you will make choices there too. The main concept of the game is this: There is an election in the country and some extremist party wins the election. They quickly start showing signs of unconvensional methods of governing. And then an opposing force emerges. You are caught up between these two and by directing what people see on the news and tvs, you have the power to manipulate the votes and the country 's future.
The game has real-life actors in real-life scenes, which pulls you into it. Otherwise it would have looked fabricated. You are managing the broadcast by selecting 1 of 4 screens to show and censoring the words as you see fit. You are also in control of the ads and the timing. This is the main premise of the game.
You will face some serious dilemmas throughout the game. There will be effective choices. There will also be challenges during the broadcasts, like maniac stuffed toys, electricution or signals going haywire. They will add extra spice but they can also be opened or closed in the options. After you complete the story you will be able play challenges which involves heavier versions of the difficulties in the story.
After each episode, you will be able to observe your edit and see what happened behind the scenes of the broadcast. This way, you can learn a thing or two about directing a live tv show. Oh btw, it is aaalllll live :D You only have 3 seconds to act before a curse word or some nudity going live :)
Overall the game has top notch acting. This was mandatory because cheap acting would drag the seriousness down. At some point i have entered the mood so deep, i was trying my best to show the good stuff to the audience, who are non existent :D That is what makes the game very good. You actually forget it is a game and makes you strive for something. Even though story (the world) is mostly hillariously non-sensical, i have never complained about it. Because i liked editing on real-time and the responsibility brought with it.
The best feeling in the game is being in the control of almost everything. It didn't feel like being a god, it rather made me feel important. The people inside the game also have their own characteristics and even backstories. The events that you are capturing is most of the time ridiculous. But you are always at the center of it all.
I would realy like to have more episodes, it felt kind of short but obviously it has a lot of endings. So that is tolerable. If there will be another game like this, PLEASE take this note:
DO NOT CHANGE THE GAME MECHANICS, JUST CREATE ANOTHER STORY. The escense of this game is editing the story and you have done a good job. You might want to get rid of the interference bug thingy. It is the year 2022 for gods sake :D
So yeah, definitely recommended game. Play it on easy if you'd like. There are difficulty options which is a really good feature. I will always be remembering this line after finishing the game: 10 seconds everbodyyyy :)
