Not for Broadcast Review (Bloodwit)
How much you enjoy this game will depend on how funny you find its silly script and satire of 1980's British TV. I am not British, although I do enjoy the occasional British sitcom, and I find the humor often doesn't land for me. I find a lot of the different segments annoying. The developers are okay with wasting the player's time. The fictional sports segments and the youth theater are annoying. I get that they are supposed to be bad, but that doesn't make them more enjoyable to watch. I also don't find it engaging as a commentary on modern politics, I'm never sure who the game is making fun of, beyond saying politics are stupid.
I find the game's mechanics to be repetitive and basic. The mechanics are not strong enough to be entertaining for more than a dozen hours, but thankfully the game doesn't last that long. You get the opportunity to replay the game from the beginning to explore different segments, but it's such a chore to get through different non-consequential segments that I'm not going to bother. You also get the opportunity to listen in on what the newscasters and other characters were saying before going on air, it's usually just the newscasters reacting to how wacky the script is, like wow I can't believe that character said that thing you wrote.
Lastly, since I began playing I've experienced a few crashes which are frustrating because the checkpoint system can lose minutes of progress. This contributes to the feeling that you're just sitting there and pushing a few buttons while waiting for the story to progress.
