Not For Broadcast: Bits of Your Life Review (PsychoSon)
After how (subjectively) bad Live and Spooky was, I'll be honest I was a little nervous for this one. However I am overjoyed to say this DLC is fantastic! This DLC essentially aims at being "replayable" to get the different endings, similarly to how Live and Spooky was. However this does in such a way that gives immense value to the player. Firstly, there is different content in almost every single variance you make.
The gameplay gimmick here is far from frustrating too! My major complaint about Live and Spooky was how they focused on adding some major game-play element rather than focusing what they do best: a damn good story! And even if you don't figure it out or mess up, you can STILL get content you haven't seen! The game (Dave) makes that VERY clear to you! So you don't feel as coerced into starting all over or reloading, but rather continue and just see what happens in the ashes! There are also way more clear hints into how to do things more properly too. AND the game even gives you a meta-sheet to keep track! This is done well, this is done right.
Now finally, the story itself. This enriches the main story line so much! It fills in the bits and pieces so beautifully! While also providing a good prequel. Also giving you a lot of insight into the characters you already know! I found myself incredibly invested for the entire length I was playing. Mainly due to how much variance in content there is, so everything felt new to me and worth watching.
I am very pleased in the direction NotGames went with this, and it gives me much hope for the next DLC! It feels like they truly learned from Live and Spooky, and improved upon the DLC formula in every single aspect! Well worth the wait! Oh and, get the bloody thing and see for yourself!
