Northgard: Dodsvagr, Clan of the Rat Review (D3VIL)
OP.
at first, it seemed pretty hard to play as this clan, different mechanics/gameplay...
but when you get a hold of it you can be ready with 19 Warband in 802, tons of food, gold, and lore.
Tips:
-rush the warchief and clear yourself asap
-start mining stone in mid 800/late 800
-before starting to upgrade the buildings try to reach for carpentry mastery in the lore path
-you should go for ships, because of the reason that rat doesn't require much gold for his troops, you can go for ships and use overcrowding to build 2 ships at the same time (when you upgrade these ships in the same Tile you'll get a total bonus of 40% for the sailors in that tile.)
-as soon as 802 hits, spam Shaman Camps
-don't forget that you can heal your teammates! it can save you many games by healing up your and your teammate's troops
relic - OP. might be the strongest tank in this game. 20 resistance, 110 hp, around 20 damage, and fast AF.
p.s. I see tons of people rushing this relic in the early game, which is one of the worst things you can do as the rat,
when you rush this relic you'll need 110 wood, 450/500~ food (2 villagers assigned as smiths and 2 as miners), 10 iron
and 100 gold. even if you succeed to rush this relic early on in the game you couldn't progress as far as rushing stone.
you'd be crippling in econ, you wouldn't have as much Warband as the enemy teams, and lesser tiles than usual...
I do really like this relic, but you shouldn't rush it before getting stone in this clan.
military- Decent+.
I saw a lot of people complaining about shamans being weak and using warriors as an alternative.
well, in my opinion, the people that are using warriors instead of shamans didn't quite see what shamans can do when they are upgraded.
you can easily spam 18 upgraded shamans mid-game (late 802),
when each of them dies, the opponent troops receive -30% resistance loss, combined with the 30% more speed than the shamans have, and with upgraded camps they are unstoppable. once I've reached 74 health for the shamans.
wisdom- OP.
as I said, spam as many camps as you can in early 802, and for each foe unit killed you'll get a wisdom bonus for each
camp you've built.
economy - OP.
with the lore of overcrowding, you can place and upgrade two food/gold/wood buildings at the same tile,
for each upgraded building it counts as a 20% production bonus. with 2 upgraded buildings combined, it counts as a 40% production bonus. combined with overworking you can be in a profit of 40 food while having a small army healing back your villagers
this is personally my favorite clan for being ridiculously OP in the meantime, and it has unusual gameplay.
