Neptunia Riders vs. Dogoos Review (Cory)
I struggle to even call this a "game". It has 16 levels which can all be beaten in less than 60 seconds. Including all the cutscenes, it took less than 2 hours to reach the credits. The fact that they thought they could get away with selling this for $40 is insulting. I spent $16 on it and I still feel like I overpaid.
The way that Idea Factory has been so negligently mishandling one of my favorite game franchises hurts me so much. The scope, budget, quality, and popularity of this series has only gone down with each new entry. Even a super-fan, like me, is getting extremely tired of the disrespect and lack of care that IF is giving to their bread and butter franchise.
I can tell how many fans IF is losing just by looking at steam metrics. The first Neptunia game has an all-time peak player-count of 2,281, the last spinoff has an all-time peak of 417, and THIS game has an all-time peak of a measly 14. (Until the first sale, it was only 3). This game has also sold less than 600 copies on Steam. Previous games in the series have all sold anywhere from tens to hundreds of thousands of copies each. IF seriously messed up with this release.
