Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Review (WyldFire)
Just like with STORM 1, this was my first time playing through this game as well. I have a lot more to say about this game than I do with STORM though. Starting with the cons, this game's adventure mode is leagues worse than its predecessor in so many ways. The first problem I had with it was the amount of walking back and forth throughout the story. Sure, there's a teleportation scroll, but you don't really unlock that until you're already almost done with the story, so it's not something you really have access to when you need it most. Another con about this game is its achievements. Not only are some of them achieved through online play (this is only problematic because the online is dead), but one in particular can bug out on people and just not register its completion. There are ways around both of these of course, but its very roundabout and shouldn't be a problem in the first place. Onto some positives about the game. The story is pretty good and pretty much is 1:1 with the anime. Personally, I don't think the game tells the story as good as the anime. A lot of the emotional scenes, such as Jiraiya's/Asuma's/Hinata's death, don't feel the same because a lot of the dialog/scenes between characters were missing. Even with those things missing, it still made me want to cry a second time. The introduction of stars in the quick time events was another major plus, and they also look better and feel smoother. More characters to the game's playable roster, always a plus. Overall, this is a solid game with a few flaws here and there.
