My Name is Mayo Review (Dish)

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5)
My Name is Mayo is one of the strangest and most self-aware games you’ll ever “play.” Developed by Green Lava Studios, it’s a clicker game — yes, literally a game about clicking on a jar of mayonnaise — but wrapped in layers of absurd humour, bizarre trivia, and a surprisingly personal narrative. It's weird, it's cheap, and somehow, it works.
🖱️ Gameplay
You click. A lot. That’s it.
Your entire goal is to repeatedly click a jar of mayo — thousands of times — to unlock achievements, snippets of stories, and quirky outfits for your condiment companion. It’s structured like a parody of mobile clicker games, except it knows exactly how silly it is, and leans all the way in.
The gameplay is simple to a fault, but that’s kind of the point. You’re not here for depth or strategy — you're here for the experience of unlocking wildly random story threads and chuckling at the absurdity.
📖 Narrative & Humour
What starts as nonsense slowly turns into a strange mix of satire and sincerity. There are branching “storylines” that include:
A love story about bananas 🍌
Deep thoughts on existence 😶
Childhood memories 💭
A journey of self-acceptance 🧠
It’s all delivered in short, tweet-sized blurbs that pop up between clicks, some of which are actually thought-provoking — or at least oddly sweet. There’s real heart hidden behind the memes and mayo.
🎨 Visuals & Sound
The visuals are minimal: just a jar of mayo, some basic background, and simple cosmetic changes like wigs or bikinis for your mayo. The soundtrack loops cheerful, laid-back music, adding to the surreal, idle-vibe atmosphere.
✅ Pros
✔️ Hilarious and wildly unique
✔️ Surprisingly heartfelt at times
✔️ Extremely easy to pick up
✔️ Quick 100% achievement game (perfect for trophy hunters)
❌ Cons
❌ No real gameplay depth
❌ Repetitive by design
❌ Some players won’t get the appeal
❌ Short — can be completed in under an hour
🎯 Final Verdict
My Name is Mayo is an ironic, low-effort, high-reward oddity. It’s not trying to be a “real” game — it’s a commentary on gaming habits, clicker obsession, and storytelling in the most absurd package possible. It’s weird, yes, but strangely memorable.
🥄 3/5 — A dumb, delightful, and oddly endearing click-fest in a mayo jar.
