Mr. Sun's Hatbox Review (dhobautio)

Graphics and sound design are good.
Gameplay is difficult enough that it's a good challenge, having you need to adapt to your character's traits, positive and negative, while giving multiple ways to tackle levels, but it can feel a bit confusing/unfair, with all the traits, items, and hats you need to keep track of with relatively fast paced gameplay.
The biggest thing I feel the need to say against the game though, and it's a big one that makes it feel genuinely upsetting to play, is the negative traits some of your characters can have that try to be fun and quirky by affecting your irl senses, stuff like your character has night vision so the whole screen is green, or they blink a lot so every second or so the whole screen flashes dark, or certain items that add or remove noise/music from the game, those specific traits are just too much to deal with, very disorienting and annoying, to the point where it genuinely made me feel sick a few times while playing.
I don't know if other people found those effects as annoying as I did, but I honestly can't see myself returning to this game unless they are removed or at the very least we're given an option to disable them. With the effects I'd give the game a 4/10, if they were removed, 6/10
