Monster Train 2 Review (Satan Claus)

Deck-Building Chaos, Back and Better Than Ever

Monster Train 2 cranks everything up to eleven. If you loved the first game’s strategic madness, this sequel doubles down with new clans, fresh mechanics, and a ton of clever improvements. It’s still the same frantic, multi-floor card battler you remember, just with deeper choices, crazier combos, and way more chaos (in the best way possible). Hop aboard, because this hell-bound train isn't stopping anytime soon.
What I'm Really Digging

1) Strategic Depth Just Got Deeper: Room Cards and Equipment Cards are game changers. Now you’re not just building a deck, you’re customizing entire floors and boosting specific units with tailored gear. It adds a whole new layer of strategy and actually feels meaningful instead of gimmicky.
2) The New Clans Are Wild: Five new factions, and they all feel super unique. I’ve been loving the Luna Coven’s sneaky, spell-heavy style, while the Lazarus League's resurrect and retry mechanics are a total game-changer. You’ll definitely want to try them all.
3) A Fresh Coat of Paint (and Sound): The visual upgrades are subtle but slick. It’s brighter, cleaner, and the animations pop more. And the soundtrack? Absolute banger. The music ramps up with the fights and nails the atmosphere every time.
4) The Covenant Outpost is a Smart Addition: Between runs, you hang out at this snowy little hub where you can unlock new cards, cosmetics, and other goodies. It adds a real sense of long-term progression, so even failed runs feel worth it.
5) Still Brutally Fun: It’s tougher than the original for sure. But that just makes every win more satisfying. The balance between randomness and strategy is spot on—you’ll lose a lot, but it makes you want to jump right back in.

Why I Recommend This Game:
If you're into roguelikes, card battlers, or games that push you to think two steps ahead, Monster Train 2 is an easy recommendation. It builds on what worked before and adds plenty of new tricks to keep things exciting. Every run feels different, every decision matters, and every victory feels earned.
Absolutely Worth Your Time and Money
This is the kind of sequel that gets it right. It respects what fans loved while taking the gameplay to a new level. With tons of replayability, creative mechanics, and a slick presentation, It is one of the best deck-building games out there right now.
Bonus: The developers included regional pricing, which makes it much more affordable for players around the world. Big win.
