Minecraft: Legends Review (ampd)
In its current (and probably permanent) state, do not buy this game.
Microsoft had so much potential to bring this game to something better. The concept and potential was all there and they failed at execution. I feel like if this game had more time in the oven and maybe an open beta test for feedback, this would have been a game worthy of the Minecraft title like Dungeons. Yet, I can't stop being fascinated in how much of a failure this game was. It is an amazing example of forgotten media, being completely abandoned by Microsoft and the community within literal weeks. It had great marketing and a lot of hype, a beautiful design and slightly promising storyline. When playing it though, it just feels unfinished and not well tested. The storyline is OK, however the singleplayer campaign is kinda repetitive. The PVP carries this game a lot and is less repetitive than singleplayer. The graphics and design are beautiful for how mid the gameplay is. I would love to have some of these things in vanilla Minecraft if they could implement it right.
Really, in general, this game just wasn't tested and worked on enough and rushed. I'm hoping they've learned the lesson from this game and carry it over to Spicewood.
