Minecraft Dungeons: Echoing Void Review (SassyJo)
The base Minecraft Dungeons game is plenty of fun. This DLC -- torture. The levels are WAY too long: every time you think you've completed a task, a new one pops up... and another....and another. Last night I was trying to complete one of the levels as a Daily, and after like 40 minutes of nonstop play, I got a new task: Neverending Void (or something like that). It literally felt never ending!
Even my husband, a longtime gamer, says the levels in this DLC are WAY too long. The levels are not well-mapped, and it can be confusing to figure out where you're supposed to go. Also found out in one part (don't ask me which, because I was lost in the maze) that if you miss picking up an item, you can't go back and get it because you can't fly upwards, only downwards. There is no backtracking in some areas, so keep that in mind.
Personally, I really enjoy Minecraft Dungeons (and that's saying a lot, as I'm super picky when it comes to video games), but I honestly kind of hate this DLC. There are some really cool items you can get from it, like The Starless Night sword (very powerful), but overall I regret having bought this DLC.
