Metro Exodus: The Two Colonels Review (spitfirehaga)
The Two Colonels presents a story of colonel Khlebnikov, high-ranking officer of the Novosibirsk metro armed force, well known from the original Exodus, as he is trying to do his best to protect his son. This new DLC chapter is heavily story driven, but unfortunately very short and not really difficuilt or challenging. Unlike Exodus, this is a classic metro experience, with majority of the gameplay taking place underground. Especially the initial scene in the floodded, slimy and worm-ridden tunnels and corridors is particularly claustrophobic and gruesome.
The DLC presents one new weapon - the flamethrower, but be aware that it will be pretty much your only available weapon (except for a brief firefight with AKs). It does not however feel like a pity, as all levels are designed to be completed with the flamethrower and using to fight mutants and clean path feels natural and fun.
+ Strong, captivating and emotional story connected with original Exodus plot
+ Well designed levels
+ Slimy, wet and gooey initial level
+ Flamethrower
- Very short and linear
- Almost no challenge
